今日マラソンに行きまして!とても期待しました!疲れたですけど、嬉しかった!
今天终于可以跑马拉松了!真开心!
Promised to run 10 marathons long long ago and completed it last year. But in the face of Covid, being able to run a mass event is especially sweet.
The marathon in Shanghai is almost all flat and running in 11 degrees celcius is cold at first but very comfortable for the entire journey. The hot and humid weather (and upslope Benjamin Sheares bridge) was good training.
The event was really a city highlight with the city putting resources: live telecast, army, police, and even telecommunications trucks to boost signals to support the event. It was also very inclusive as i even see blind (and deaf) runners completing the marathon.
However, i do think the road closures integration with maps/gps could be improved: the driver taking me to start location couldn’t see road closures on his baidu navigation: something google map would show in SG running events.
I also had to bring my passport for the run as it is the only way to identify the runner. Blackmarket prices for the run was as high as 50k rmb (and they asked if i want to let go of my slot).
The marketing ideas here is also more vibrant than SG: how come i never think of collaborating with a jeweller as medal sponsors? For this year, the Shanghai marathon medal came with an embedded moonstone. Though last year’s design seemed more interesting to me.
