TSD Day029: 中国化！

Today is pretty exciting! there are a few things that I want to achieve!
1. spend not more than 11RMB! (that’s S$2.20)
2. Live my dream! (Of the Chatbots!)
3. Prepare for Hang Zhou!
4. SHEN website!
 
Ok! So with my arm still aching from yesterday’s weight training, I managed
to squeeze into the bus and make my way here. even the simple action of
holding the handholds make my arm ache. haha! weak! hehe!
 
Did the SHEN website revamp stuff first thing in the morning! Followed by
emailing Melissa on the bots idea! hehe! Would be really great if I could play
a part in driving this project! It’s like my baby! hehe! If only Parkway would
breathe life into this project! Thats all I need! hehe!
 
LUNCH! (6RMB!) 
HEhe… I thought 星期一is the best and most value for money lunch you can
find in this area! But today, Mara bought me to this 无招牌 (No brand) place
to get some packed lunch! ITs only 6RMB!!!! I ordered one meat and 3 vegetable
dishes! haha! Mara mentioned it used to be 5rmb! I was like… wtf… so cheap?
IT has quite big proportions! I think I am good! hehe!
 
After Lunch! Fruitful!
Gona do up my log book for NOC and send a few mailers for the Worldlink website
update! hehe! The afternoon is really fruitful! I managed to download the SHEN site
and also complete my NOC log book! now its up to date! hehe!
 
THE GREAT DISCOVERY!
Thanks to TINA! I got to know a loop hole in the process on our website and managed
to dicuss with other departments, to develope a new process. hehe! The best part?
I am the one doing it! hehe! Its gona be an item on the management meeting next wednesday!
hehe! Gona go home soon! having dinner with the guys! I heard that Wei leen is gona
show us a new eatery! hehe! Explore explore!
 
DINNER (10RMB! Over budget!)
Ok we ate at this extremely lousy restaurant… super lousy! I order curry rice… and
its like Curry + rice… very very lousy… I shall not go there again… went to after that..
Took a picture of Mickey and Minnie… cute! hehe! Going to Hang Zhou Tomorrow! yay!

TSD Day028: Breakfast with Samuel changed everything!

RELIGHT MY FIRE!
Met Samuel for breakfast today! I think it changed my life!
At least for this one year! It relighted my FIRE! hehe! My 
Passion! I thought I would be caught up and bogged down with
the monotony for the rest of the time here! But I am wrong!
(I am glad to be wrong!) He allowed me to see the forest through
the trees. He also shared with me more plans that the organisation
has… Confidential… hehe….
 
I shall go do the feasibility study of my idea! I think it would be a
DREAM COME TRUE if I am able to do the project! hehe!
 
LUNCH AND LUNCH AGAIN!
Man! I think this is a blessing! First was the team meeting lunch
with Dr. Liam, the other one is a lunch that Mara (from call Centre)
bought for me, her recomendation. Its  桂林米粉！Not bad! Too bad
no meat! argh! Carnivore! Have to thank her for her treat of the
珍珠奶茶 as well! hehe… The Team lunch is good! Had Japanese
Bento… its Cod fish! woah! good stuff! hehe!
 
Accupuncture!
The is cool! Alicia in Call centre is actually well versed in Chinese
Medicine! She did it on Tina… to solve her neckache. Wow! This is
cool! First time I see REAL needles in REAL people! COOL!
 
THINK BUDGET? THINK AGAIN!
For all the China dudes who think u are living on the lowest possible
means… think again! I thought I could live with just 30RMB per day
on meals. You know what? This amount is considered EXTRAVAGANT!
(I was like oh my god!) I was thought the way to live with just 11RMB
with a balanced diet! I shall start that regime tomorrow! hehe! =)
 
My FIRST PAYCHECK! hehe!
Wow! First time getting my paycheck! It says 1155RMB! hehe! wow!
 
The GYM!
I tell you! the Mr Zhang, the boss of the Gym (of all the 4 outlets) is a
great man! hehe! HE was 2nd in one of the Nation wide body building
competition! haha! China no. 2 sia! haha! Then we had a personal
trainer for this session that we sent. haha! not bad! We did lotsa weights.
My arm almost broke… I think tomorrow gone le… cant even lift my hand
to grab the handholds. haha!

TSD Day027: Losing Steam? 化悲愤，为食量！

Does this happens to you? Charged and fully motivated at the beginning,
Slowly as you become more into the job, your life becomes a rountine.
Your hopes, your dreams, slowly give way to the monotony of this life,
this routine… I DUN WANT THAT! This should not be happening. I shall
not get bogged down by too many little things that distracts me from the
goal, from the purpose of what I am here for! =)
 
Today!
Today has been rather mundane. (Oh no! my attitude! its changing!) okok!
Today is ok-lah! did some presentation slides, help Denise with the DTC
minutes and did more SHEN and dreamweaver stuff. I think I am not cut
out for websites.  Am suppose to meet Sam for lunch today to discuss
about marketing. But its being postphoned to tomorrow. Shall be meeting
Gary, Alex and Coco for Sakae later. Gona 化悲愤，为食量！and eat my fill!
 
Tickets to HangZhou!
One good news! Got my ticket to HangZhou! hehe! Gona go this Friday! yay!
first time getting tickets via phone orders. In China, alot of things work via
phone bookings. I bargained even for that. haha! Was suppose to pay 25rmb
for delivery of the tickets. I slashed it to 15. hehe! Smart!
 
Treats!
Well as the tittle implies! This space is meant to recognise all the heroes and
heroines that helped make my day with their generosity of sharing! hehe!
HAve to thank Lulu for the Hi Chew sweet that she gave me! used to love it
when I was a kid! And Wang yong for the 小麻花！but I still perfer the one
from denise… even though this one is good too! hehe!
 
Dinner@Sakae!
Woah! the dinner is darn darn good! hehe! had A LOT of good food. for my dear
friends who did not see the previous entry of my visit there, you can check out
the pictures! its just cool. good food, great friends wonderful food! woah! what
more can I ask for? hehe! Had dinner with Coco, Gary and Alex! hehe! worth
it! This is a treat for Coco for the treat she gave us last week for Alex’s Birthday!
hehe! I think its all good stuff!

TSD Day026: THINK BIG! Never too small to make a diff!

What a start to a day! hehe! Promised to help Denise with taking minutes
for today and tomorrow. Gotta reach the place at 830! hehe! Shag! But
I think worth while! Denise is like my big sister! She really knows alot about
the company and Shanghai in general! 
 
WORK!
I help her do the minutes alrite! But after she had a meeting with Jane, we
realised draft one is not enough. haha! Feel so guilty that she has to redo
alot of the stuff. But She still ask me to help. haha! Shall do better this time!
 
Other than the minutes, I also did the internal Audit presentation! Hell! haha!
lotsa miscomm along the way… kena F**ked for following orders. But well.
thats the way things goes when you are stucked in the middle. I am beginning
to learn the politics and how things go. I shall one day learn and set it to my
advantage. That day is not far away. each day I learn and apply. Matter of time
before I learn the operations and also the politics. I feel that such politics are
more or less the different kind of people doing the same kind of things. 
 
OH MY LUNCH!
Almost died during lunch time! HAd late lunch (15minutes late actually) but it
feels like forever! haha! Luckily had my favourite 鸡腿饭！that saved the day!
haha! I love the MONDAY restaurant! haha! Help to boost my morale abit and
fight off the monday blues!
 
TICKETS TO HANGZHOU! ASES!
Also ordered tickets for my trip to HangZhou! Miss my Zhejiang ASES friends!
let me do abit of Advertisment here. ASES stands for (Asia-Pacific Student
Entrepreneurship Society) and they are a super great bunch! hehe! looking forward
to seeing them this weekend! woot! haha! Gona take a look at their startup!

Also have to thank Denise and Catherine for helping to guide me to book the tickets
for the trip to hangzhou! hehe!
 
SHEN Stuff!
On top of that also did a bit of editing on the SHEN webby. hehe! put up our
8th Batch name list! yay! hehe! Dinner At 家家米粉 is not bad! had roast pork!
woah! good stuff the soup tastes great too! haha! At home I had 2 cakes! one
is a fruitcake with rum! haha! The other one is a super duper THICK chocolate
cake! haha! damn thick! and very sweet. Making me feel guilty of this SINFUL
treat! looking forward to hit the gm on wed! Tue would be a treat for Coco from
the Fellowship (Alex, Gary and I).

TSD Day 025: Shag Day Slacking…

Woke up at almost 10am today. Shag… duno y… haha!
Spend the morning reading and playing chess with Gary.
 
When to 迪卡浓！and bought the bag today! hehe! Had our
lunch at 又一处！good food with great quantity! hehe! After
that we went to shop around the area and bought my favourite
王老吉！which is equivalent to 佳佳凉茶! very nice! But the seniors
said its over priced. still finding an alternative. I like the bag!
Good for my Nanjing trip next week! hehe!
 
While shopping I found this Pretzel shop! very nice! the size also
bigger than Auntie Anne’s if I am not wrong! I had the sour cream
and onion also tasted Gary’s Cinamon flavour! hehe! Good!
 
Gona have a meeting later on the web site. hehe! wonder what
is there to do. Excited! ok. So the meeting is about revamping the
website.. have to make it simpler and update the stuff. the rest is
fine. haha! After the meeting have some time to pack up my room
and make it look neater! hehe! Also made Dore’s Calendar a permanent
fixture in my cupboard! nice. hehe!

TSD Day024: Zhang Man! Buddies

Today is a generally relaxed day.. 
Spend the morning ironing away my shirts and slacked a little here and there.
Had at a noodle store behind cloud nine. It is only now that I realised that the
usual noodle store that I used to support is actually not the cheapest! there is
another one which is cheaper and looks cleaner! hehe! But I am still more
attaced to the older store I used to go… emotionally attached… maybe I’ll
still go once in a while.. haha! Anyway I ordered a 大排面！It’s only 6rmb!
 
In the afternoon, I spent my time online slacking away and reading a little on
my 48 laws of power. A pretty good read! hehe! I also prepared green bean soup!
I think I have got talent at cooking! hehe! It’s not until about 430 pm that
I start to prepare to go meet Zhang man and her friends! hehe! MEt them at about
515pm at Raffles City at Ren Ming Guang Chang. First Had dessert at Mega Bite!
No space! haha! Had to eat STANDING! haha! Fun!
 
We waited for like an hour or so before we finally got to the restaurant! Full of people!
Its also in Raffles City. Its call 港丽餐厅 pretty good ambience! hehe! The food there
is great! especially the desert with a bread! haha! nice!
 
After dinner is a visit to Xin Tian Di! The Clark Quay of Shanghai! hehe! nice place
with great chill out music! hehe! I like! Really shag after that! Went home! Called Dore.
Gona sleep. Tomorrow going to get travel backpacks! hehe! Cool!

TSD Day023: Happy Birthday Alex 周！

First of All, have to wish our fellowship mate Alex a happy birthday! hehe!
I Hope I can finish my work today asap and get to join the guys for dinner!
 
Early in the morning work Work WORK!
That aside, cast into the reality of an OT! haha! Well! Luckily, Thanks to my
大姐 Denise in ParkwayHealth! She treated me to a 麻花！Great way to start
a day! hehe! Helps to offset abit of my mental trauma… Man! Gota finish the
stuff today no matter what! The goal? NO OT! hehe! Work my ass off in the
morning gathering and producing a document. finally managed to send it
before lunch to all the key people! hehe!
 
Lunch at 星期一！(Again? Argh, not sian ar?)
Haha, I love 星期一! today I ate their 招牌便当！Together with Jessica, Mike
and Sarah! hehe! Took the opportunity to ask alot of HR related stuff, like
talent retention and head hunting! haha! I think I shall formulate deeper
questions to ask! To really gain knowledge in the HR domain.
 
Also have to thank Anneke for the pizza treat! hehe! Pepperoni Pizza is
great! hehe! Hope ur feet heals soon. FYI, her feet got rolled over by the
bus door this morning. Morale of the story? Dun stand near the DOOR!
not too near that is… Pizza is great!
 
Play to win! hehe!
Today is a day of treats! hehe! Another treat from Sister Denise! haha! sounds
so Catholic! A 姚豆！Nice!
 
Treats keeps you happy! Thus improves one’s efficiency! hehe! manage to finish all
the inputs and come up with a presentation based on a super long email! hehe! I think
I level up le! In terms of political skills and work efficiency! Also tied down the workflow
with Melissa for Call Centre! hehe! That’s what I call efficiency… so what do I do for
Monday? haha.. shh… (I also duno… hehe!)
 
Going home soon! Early today. About 5pm now! Gona get a wireless router man! hehe!

Dinner – Celebrate Alex’s Birthday!
Met Alex’s friend, Coco. Was still wondering at "Cloud Nine" until we went to Coco’s Family
run restaurant! hehe! Good food! Really! Celebrated Alex’s birthday there! The food is real good!
After that Coco went to our house and we chit chatted for a while! Fun nite! hehe!

TSD Day022: Happy Birthday Singapore!

As a Citizen of Singapore! It’s times like this that makes me especially proud of my country!
The spirit of patriotism, the many years of nation building. The success of the nation, and of
course, its people! That’s me! hehe!
 
Now work!
Gona be in a whole day meeting for the Internal Audit Presentation. It’s gona be real tiring.
But rewarding I guess! hehe! For the whole of tomorrow too! Shall learn the most out of it! 
Man! They have a long discussion today! At least from morning till noon. And I’ll have to translate
all these thoughts into a ppt. Its abit more than minutes. But I got to know how each department
is linked to the other in what processes. Intruiging!
 
Lunch!
Tried another 外卖 from somewhere else in the list of 外卖s the call centre has! Its ALOT! Had pig
intestine with noodles and ALOT ALOT of pepper… machiam free one… haha. Not something that
I like. I mean the entire bowl of noodles. aiyer…. lousy… Mara’s one seem to be much better!
With extra 猪肚！next time I shall do the same! hehe!
 
After lunch~ more Work AR!
Slog like hell after lunch… Was compiling what was discussed till noon. And had to come up with
a format for dscussion… no sweat. hehe. But after the discussion ended at about 5+. here’s the
siong part: I have to do up another consolidation. sommore need to send to different personnels
for input. siong ar! haha! Work till 7+ haha… sian diao… sommore the wireless router at the house
is spoiled. have to get a new one. sian! haha! Blog in office before going back! hehe! shh….
 
Dinner in Office! First time!
星期一排骨饭！is the best! I think thats the only comforting thing… when u are bloggin in the office
just before going home… ha! Finally finished the stuff I am suppose to do. Sent them… waiting for
another re invent the wheel! hehe! But thats for tomorrow! hehe!! Heading home! Too bad the
wireless router spoil.. maybe repair or buy a new one tomorrow. haha! signing out! HAve fun to all
those workaholics out there!

TSD Day021: Taken for a ride

Sometimes some people are true. Sometime these people are out to
waste ur time. I am not the kind for crappy egoists who goes around
telling people who did right or wrong. (Who’s to say?) I dun like those
F**Kers who expects people to think for them. If you think u are one
of those, please F**k off! Dun waste my time.
 
The Day
Today is good! At the call centre… Got to understand the different
processes within the company. I got to know how important this unit
is to the stability of the entire company. I think they are the bedrock
of the sales force here! They are the people who also have the most
knowledge on most departments. I think the department is a GEM to
parkway!
 
The People 
Documented the different processes. Learnt that there are many
processes that pass through many hands. Alot of things that are done
are actually through the excellence of the call centre staff’s commitment
to provide quality customer service. In a nutshell, its a business logic:
No matter how screwed up an organisation is inside, it must look good
on the outside. The Call centre staff I would say, are the ones that help
put up the front and helps to manuveur through the difficults and redtapes
of the organisation and make things happen! They ROCK!
 
The Lunch 
Lunch was with Dr. Liam! hehe! sponsored again! yay! haha! had Spagetti
with Tuna Set lunch at maui Cafe! So good to be at 建国西路！ Now I know!
its near the orchard road of Shanghai: 淮海路。 And the Facility that I will
be going often in Luwan is near 新天地 which is like the clarke quay back
home! hehe!
 
The Work 
Finally finished the first draft of the documentation. waiting for Melissa to give
me the documents from her department to add on any necessary stuff to my
process documentation! hehe!
 
Man! Jane just told me that I would have to work additional this week for the internal
audit presentation. haha! Thats both good and bad. The bad is well I have to work on
Fri. The good? Get to learn the processes and loop holes in each departments. Quite
a big thing! Shall do a "Zai" ppt for them. Hope I can present mine soon!
 
The Dinner…
Dinner is at the usual noodle store… but there is something unusual we did. hehe! We
ordered some 水饺with vegetable fillings! hehe! Nice! on top of my 葱油拌面！Had dinner
with the Fellowship. haha! And michelle too!
 
THE CELEBRATION!!!!
This is good stuff! We celebrated the birthday of Alex and Ming Rong! Also for the nation lah!
haha! Had lotsa fun! the 2 birthday boys are sexually harassed one way or the other. Cakes
were flying around the house, and of coz, booze to flow around. Din had much drinks. Not
feeling too well. but of course I did have FUN! hehe! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE! and Alex
and Ming Rong!

TSD Day020: Annivesary with Dore + First day in Luwan!

Woke up in the morning feeling fresh and happy. Up and running with Dore. Used
the Addidas Blue Challenge or something for my shirt. Can still smell it even after
lunch.

Went to the Luwan faility today, the largest facility Parkway has in China.
Walked the wrong direction initially. Luckily I left early and reached at 9.
Had dnner with Dr. Liam. The man I’ll be working with for the next 2-3 months.

This is real cool! For a start I am working with HIS (Hospital Information System).
Shall be working with SCS (Singapore Computer Systems) on this. The first step that
I am taking is to go to the call centre tomorrow and observe! Hehe.. Linus law.
Shall seee what are the processes involved and document the processes. The other
thing that I’ll be looking at is BPR: Business Process Re-engineering. I guess right
indeed an excellent opportunity to look at the work flow, analyse, and improve!
Hehe.. What I learnt in ISS can be used! hehe! So happy!

Also thanks to Dr. Liam, got a breakfast treat at a Starbucks look-a-like cafe.
Good breakfast! If I had know, wouldnt have gotten my 鸡柳三文治 at 奶茶新语! The price
rose from 4rmb to 5rmb! wtf! haha! For lunch, have to thank Steele for the treat!
hehe! He bought us lunch at Chamate! Their set lunch is not bad! had my favourite
虾饺！ It has always been my favourite ever since I was a kid!
