FOB1404-1410: IRONMAN 70.3 and Dishwasher
Update 19 May 2024:
Today i took my first ever Ironman 70.3! It’s a really shag experience!
Having not swam in open waters in the past few years, i actually panicked at the start and i told the kayaker i want to give up (怕死） but in the end i went from rest point to rest point and eventually build up enough confidence to complete the course.
The bike leg is interesting, wow first time can cycle so much. But 90km under the sun really tire you out quickly. The hilly terrain also quite tiring to go up and down.
For the run leg, also hilly (sian) and super hot. I have a pack of ice inside my trisuit to keep cool. It was also the time my apple watch died (because i slow). So in the end i couldnt keep track of time and i was cut off at the last km (oh my god)…So in the end really sian diao.
Lesson learnt: use a normal watch (or run faster), choose a cooler place or do more heat training.Really thanks Terran for teaching me how to change tires and maintenance of bike: something i never learn before.
Overall i am glad i enjoyed the entire race and glad that i am alive! Just no medal abit sian. =p
Update 18 May 2024:
First time trying out ironman 70.3. Actually signed up before covid but keep getting delayed and organisers wont refund. So got to attend to make the money worth. Pretty good REPC (Race Entry Pack Collection) exercise probably i am early and not alot of people. Good business idea to put participants name on merchandise so it becomes customised for the year to push sales.Hope i dont die/dnf tomorrow.
